John Wesley has been called a “practical theologian.” His theology always applies directly to real-life situations. He did not write a “systematic theology.” He never wrote out, in one place, what he believed about all the Christian doctrines. Scholars must look at Wesley’s sermons, journals, and letters in order to weave together what he believed about each traditional “systematic” doctrine.
This study will help you understand the theology of the Church of the Nazarene.

In these sessions we take you through all you need to know to read and understand the Bible. We’ll highlight the different types of literature contained within Scripture; we’ll learn what are the important questions to ask as we consider the verses we read. Above all, as we come to know our Creator by studying His words, we will grow into the people God created us to be.
It’s not necessarily hard to understand God’s love at a cognitive level, but in reality we can still feel emotionally disconnected from God and His love. The words spoken into our lives in the past can impact the relationship we develop with God today. Words shape people, in the moment, and sometimes for a lifetime.
This course is about releasing the emotional chains that hold us back from a full and fulfilling relationship with Christ. How can we deal with the shame that gets in the way of experiencing God’s love?
